3 Ways We Can Share Jesus’ Mercy with Others

“No soul that has called upon My mercy has been disappointed or brought to shame. I delight particularly in a soul that has placed its trust in My goodness.”

Jesus, I Trust in You — Divine Mercy Ring

Hello, friends!

Today is the final day of the Easter Octave–-the eight-day celebration after the Lord’s resurrection–-that concludes with Divine Mercy Sunday.

Lately, I’ve felt called to bring this beautiful devotion into my home on a more regular basis. Whether it’s an irreconcilable toddler, laundry piled high, another sleepless night with a newborn baby, or a ridiculously busy schedule, Jesus stands directly in front of us, today and always, with the most life-giving posture.

The Lord is ready to fold you into His loving arms, meeting you exactly where you are, and bringing you closer to where you want to be. But, we can’t receive His unmatched mercy without first surrounding and melting into His embrace.

Take a deep breath, exhale and whisper, “Jesus, I trust in you…”

The disciples were filled with joy at seeing the Lord, and he said to them again, 'Peace be with you. 'As the Father sent me, so am I sending you.' After saying this he breathed on them and said: Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone's sins, they are forgiven; if you retain anyone's sins, they are retained.

Divine Mercy Sunday is a yearly call to relinquish our human control and give of ourselves completely to God, the one true source of love and life. Although our sins nailed him to the cross he lovingly shows us his wounds and calls us to a life with Him.

Thankfully, we don’t need to wait for the annual reminder to cling to this transformative grace and we should maintain a reciprocal practice with those in our lives.

3 Ways We Can Share Jesus’ Love and Mercy with Others:

  1. Say It Out Loud: A friend of mine, who loves the Divine Mercy Novena and Chaplet, shared that in the midst of chaos with her children she calls out the five words, “Jesus, I trust in you.”

Not only is this teaching her kids to give their anxieties, worries and frustrations to the Lord, but also she’s using the auditory signal to showcase that whatever they’re experiencing feels so challenging that she has no choice but to hand [pitch, thrust, push, etc.] the scenario over to the Lord.

  2. Hang it on Your Wall: Add the Divine Mercy artwork to your gallery wall, next to your kitchen sink, or near your front door as a visual reminder of God’s healing fount of mercy.

  3. Wear it Around Your Finger or Your Neck: Maybe you feel that wearing a certain piece of jewelry will be the best way to cling to the devotion, while it physically clings to you.

Let’s join together to share Jesus’ peace, goodness, and unfathomable mercy.

Jesus, I trust in You!
