Why is the devil envious of us?

There is something we can do that neither the devil, nor the angels can do. Do you know what it is? ⁠

Create. Create new life. ⁠

"'The devil is envious of humanity, because God gave human beings something he did not give the angels. Angels do not reproduce. A man and a women and their coming together can create something that is immortal. Something that is eternal. God creates the immortal soul. On this Feast of the Annunciation, as we celebrate the Incarnation of Our Lord, may we pray for the protection of ALL human life. Because the devil wants nothing more than for us to see it as worthless. ⁠
