12 Promises of the Sacred Heart

Below are the traditional Twelve Promises of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, associated with the revelations given by Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque.

While the wording varies slightly between sources, these are the promises most commonly cited:

• I will give them all the graces necessary for their state in life.
• I will establish peace in their families.
• I will console them in all their troubles.
• I will be their refuge during life and above all in death.
• I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.
• Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.
• Lukewarm souls shall become fervent.
• Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.
• I will bless every place in which an image of My Heart is exposed and honored.
• I will give priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
• Those who promote this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be effaced.
• In the excess of the mercy of My Heart, I promise you that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays for nine consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under My displeasure, nor without receiving the sacraments. My Divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.

Jesus revealed twelve promises to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque for those who honor His Sacred Heart and place their trust in His mercy. Many families choose to express this devotion through consecration and enthronement of the Sacred Heart in their homes.

NOTE: The Church encourages Sacred Heart devotion without presenting the promises as automatic rewards tied to a particular ceremony. The emphasis is always on a deeper relationship with Christ and confidence in His love.
